In appreciatation of all our Australian and New Zealand viewers, today I thought it would be fitting to write about one of the worst days of my life, which was all caught on film! See our Aussie and Kiwi friends are on Season 1 and today/tomorrow they'll be enjoying Episodes 15 &16. You remember those.... the one where my brother, my dad, and Perez all get stuck in the Everglades and then Bernice and Jerome go looking for them. All of which leads me to... THE WORST DAY OF MY LIFE!
So there I am, working, minding my own business (as per usual) when all of the sudden everyone (and I mean EVERYONE) decides to hall *ss to the Everglades to repo an air boat. Now just as Murphy's Law would have it, we get swamped with calls and no one can get a hold of my dad, my brother, or Perez. Being the worry wart that I am, I make the decision to send Bernice and Jerome to find our missing Three Amigos (love that movie). I mean honestly, what was I going to do?
Of course it wasn't until AFTER I sent out our last two drivers on this search and rescue mission that I realized my entire crew of drivers was now all in the Everglades which is not only a good 90 minute drive South but spans a few hundred square miles West. WHAT WAS I THINKING?
Then, it happenned. One of our biggest contract holders calls demanding a car be towed immediately. What's a girl to do? I put on my neon day glow yellow work shirt and jumped in a tow truck... like I was going to SAVE THE DAY!
CRASH! BOOM! POW!
Saving the day didn't go so well... Okay, I DID get the $115, but then I had to give it back, and I wrecked into a car, hit a scooter, AND a man, and ended up with a migraine to go along with my embarrassment. I'm not sure all of that makes it worth trying to please this jerk of a client.
Needless to say, I have NO plans to jump behind the wheel of a tow truck ever again!
